I’m bothered because I found the Kobalt brand to be very good at the price point, and my experience with warranty was like 20 years ago at Sears. It has been over 10 years and my wife and I, despite now living in an old house requiring constant work, still do not shop at Lowe’s. Also, I think the “Midwestern” vibe of Fort Myers transcends the new residents moving there.. There’s also a fair # of people from the NE that settle in SWFL.
The best example I can think of is NJ increased the flue pipe size requirement for gas water heaters. My long way of saying I think it sounds reasonable to me. bit I would definitely call the township. The water heater itself was covered as it leaked before warranty was over. We did replace a water heater ( a few times!!) and did have PSEG worry free contract.
Their 24 hour tool exchange is fantastic and prices are more than reasonable for the quality. For the price point and warranty, I thought they were a good weekend warrior brand for sure. Yeah heard a commercial last week for craftsman at Lowe’s. I thunder empire slot have a full box of Kobalt at our little cabin so I wasn’t dragging tools anymore, and gifted sets to my son and nephews because of that decent quality and warranty.
